From the December 2013 progress report:

As of late November, the majority of the trunked radio system repeaters is in transit or has been delivered to Harris Corp.’s Oregon office in preparation for installation. Having the equipment manufactured and staged ahead of time enables expedited deployments once the sites are ready next spring ...

The expected completion for console installation and integration is the fourth quarter of 2014.

I wonder if it will be Phase II from the start or not.

From the January 2014 progress report:

Trunked Radio System

To date, 85 percent of the 41 repeaters have been procured and delivered to the Harris warehouse in Salem. Four have been installed. The two required switches have been procured and are being tested at the Harris warehouse in Salem.

Procurement for the dispatch consoles is underway. Three vendors qualified to compete for the console contract.

CONSOLIDATION

Other SRUG work products, which focus on system sharing with city of Portland and other cities and counties, are progressing. They will set the standard for how the State Radio System will work with its partners. As technology progresses, additional opportunities for collaboration and system sharing will occur.

From the February 2014 progress report:

A new startup sequence is beginning to take shape for the trunked radio system. The trunking system for the west side of the state is planned to be installed this summer and tested this winter and into spring of 2015. The east side trunking system is planned to be installed by late 2015 and tested through the spring of 2016.

From the May 2014 progress report:

An agreement with the Lane Radio Group has been signed allowing Oregon State Police to communicate on the Lane County trunked system for mutual aid cooperation. The integration of the OSP radios onto the Lane County trunked radio system is progressing, with the issues being identified and resolved during this pilot project.

The July 2014 Progress Report says that the design of the trunked system is complete and the 2 system controllers (Salem and Bend I believe) are installed and that voice testing will begin before the licenses for the sites are completed.

I have the 536HP too. The system is P25 Phase II so make sure in sentinel that you select "P25 Trunk" which is for P25 Phase I and/or Phase II. Next, just leave the band plan in the software empty. For analog trunked systems you have to enter custom band plans but on P25 systems the radio gets band plan info from monitoring the control channel so you don't need to enter any info there...it just automatically does it when it scans the sysem!

Testing the new Oregon State System

Last night when my 436 was scanning, the system had prerecorded male and female voices with short sentences being recited over and over. The TGID was 9905 and the UID was 9989905. Every time the voice came over the air, it showed NFM PTO then when it was silent it showed DAT only. It sounded really good over the receiver. Maybe it wont be long before actual transmissions may occur.

If it is trunked and by the deployment date looks I'm willing to bet it'll have phase 2 talk groups. Whether it's mixed of phase 1 and 2 who knows. I do know anything now rolling out for installs in new dtrs systems M is selling phase 2 unless they are upgrading a current phase 1 system slowly.

It is a trunked system and some other sites are online. TDMA has been heard by another user. See this thread:
http://forums.radioreference.com/or...rum/296555-unk-700mhz-system-sw-portland.html

The system is Harris, not Motorola.

Harris tends to follow /\/\s move with dtrs deployment for trunking options. Mistake of name but Harris applies to that also. Phase 1 is considered old technology. Some disagree but to a seller it's ancient.

I agree with the sellers- for example the LAPD in Cali and Maricopa County in AZ. I'm not sure on the exact history of their systems but they have both been Phase I for years, Maricopa- trunked. I'm sure there are other counties or agencies in the midwest that have been either digital conventional or trunked for some time as well. But it's a pretty new thing for the west coast.

I caught a tech on TG 2 the other day on the Chehalem Mtn site and it was definitely P25 Phase II TDMA.
