Saturday July 15th 4:30 - 8:30 and Sunday July 16th 11am - 3 pm is the air show at Hillsboro Airport. Saturday will also have a "light show" from 8:30 pm - 10 pm.

A-10 west coast demo team
Air Force reserve "jet car" (damn recruiters)
Jim Vanek's Sport Copter
F18 Demostration team

plans and people jump'in out of a good aircraft too.

Which means ... no head liners (Snow Birds, Blue Angels, Thunder Birds).

Don't have any of the frequencies used during the show.

Here's some possible frequencies:

Air Show control 123.4 mhz AM
2nd control 123.45
Coordination 120.45
3rd control 126.4

I hear traffic on 121.7 and 119.3

An aircraft from a small private airport located south of Hillsboro, Oregon violated the Air show 'air space' several times yesterday. At one point the Air Boss stopped air craft, in the air show, while Hillsboro Tower assigned a flight number to the wandering aircraft and sent it someone where else.

Last nights fireworks at the air show were some of the best I have seen in the recent years.

An aircraft crashed into a Hillsboro home this afternoon.

Update:

They impact in the area of NE 60th and harvest court.
No injury reports have come in.

The aircraft that crashed was a hunter hawk

It appears the pilot has died trying to keep his plane from crashing into dense home divisions.

Witnesses report observing problems with the jet's engine during take off. The afterburner
didn't light up.

Sad. I guess from the news sources the pilot was the only casualty, but one house was destroyed and another two were damaged.

It happens sometimes, but still unexpected and saddening

They had the "light show" a little early - around 4:30.

Yah, DickH, I witnssed the fireworks out of the plane around 4:30pm on Saturday.

It was kind of surreal. Because, it was full afternoon light.

The night light show was a real pleasure to watch.
