Default 453.075 Discontinued Now?

I haven't heard 453.075 in use for a few months. Does anyone know when they stopped using this? Also, is there a UHF replacement for dispatch?

Default BCD996XT not scanning Franklin

I have a BCD996XT that I just bought and have used FREESCAN combined with a premium subscription to Radio Reference to program the scanner. I followed the directions to the best of my ability with uploading the programming to my scanner and there is absolutely nothing coming across the scanner. I have my pager open and can hear dispatches through the pager so obviously there should be some activity on the trunked system, yet my scanner does nothing. Any suggestions or tips or ideas what could be happening?

Thanks!

Thanks W3DMV, I sent an email to your actual email address instead of through here with the information you requested. Looking forward to a functioning scanner lol.

Can anyone local confirm whether the following talkgroups have fulltime or selectable encryption:

11, 13, 26, 29, 31, 32, 33.

I got a submission that lists these all as encrypted. They are currently in the DB simply as digital talkgroups. So, are they full time encrypted or not?

Thanks,

Ben

They are all encrypted. The only police talkgroups that are in the clear is 10 and 21.

I'm one county away, but can easily hear their trunked system. It may take a few days because
activity can be very light,

Also working on the old conventional channels to confirm what is still active.. They have a million UHF mobile repeaters and other low power freqs. Gonna be a real challenge. Will advise findings..

Missed the post by BMLURE. He's in the middle of the operation and always has good info.. Disregard
my post above.

Everyone out here seems to be going encryption crazy since Hagerstown decided to lock
their ops down... Good luck

Those tgs have been encrypted long before Hagerstown. They should be police channels 2 & 3,both Chambersburg boro and countywide , maybe coroner , county sheriff and such. I will check what I have in the scanner.

My apologies for blaming Hagerstown for the encryption. Apparently the information I have provided
is incorrect. I shall butt out and take my interests elsewhere.

I was working on trying to correct the long lists of licenses that remain in Franklin County since the
implementation of the trunking system and still listed on RR.. I know many of them are no longer
utilized and should be removed from the data base. Perhaps someone in the county with knowledge of their use can correct the list and submit your finding to the administrator....

Done... Gone

There is no user selectable encryption anywhere on the Franklin County system.

The police dispatch TG's are in the clear. All other police TG's are encrypted.

The rest of the system is in the clear.

Default County pager question

Is there some one on the forum who would know what the plans are as far as fire pagers are concerned ? If you would be looking at buying a pager what are the plans for the county as far as the requirements / compatabilty for a pager? Who services/programs pagers in the area?

I bought my fire pager from Com Pros in Chambersburg, and that is where I had it programmed.

I'm not privy to any insider information, but as far as I know, the plan, as far as fire paging goes, is to continue using the UHF conventional paging channel.

I no longer carry my pager. Active 911 and the various scanner apps available for smart phones do everything my pager did and more. My department also has the audio from all of our dispatches sent to our cellphones via MMS, and the dispatches are also posted to Twitter within a minute or so of dispatch. So, I get all of the alerting and live monitoring I need without having to carry another device.

Default system down?

Has anyone else noticed that 495.8625 is silent? I can't get any reception , usually I get a very high decode rate.

Both control channels, 495.8625 & 495.6000 are loud and clear
on this side of the hill...
