They are the Motorola professional series radios. CDM-1250/1550 and HT-1250's etc. Under the MDC signalling tab in the CPS is an option to add more than one data burst during the transmission of the identifier. When I did the 15, 41 and 56 radios I set them to 3. Allows any console or radio decoding a better chance to receive the ID. Some radio systems have inherient delays which may clip the first portion of the data burst.

Awesome, thanks! I know a lot of people hate hearing the MDC's but I love them. At least 1 person out there besides the ones working the consoles appreciates your work. LOL
My Relm that I have is ancient so I'll have to remember those settings when it finally kicks and I replace it. Can that be set for the multiple burst on post or pre/post or just pre? Like you were describing about some systems not getting the data burst our ops channel has gone down the toilet since the County took it over from our former dispatch center so a lot of times the info doesn't hit. The 3 burst would work out nice.

When I did 69's I set them to 2. Same reason. Sounds cooler too :P

You can get that option on the Pre, Post or both transmission. What company are you with and what frequency did the county take over?

Those key up sounds allow me to easily identify whose radio is keying up. Not only on Sector 4 can I often tell what department is keying up but in some instances which officer or car is keying up. Same with the fire / EMS side.

Ah nice to hear it can be done on any of the 3 options. I'm certainly going to keep that in mind. Thanks!
I'm in Northeastern Pa. The County took over the neighboring town's channels when they were forced to shut down their local dispatch center in 2009. We willingly moved from the ops channel we'd been using since the jump up from low band to high band w/o a repeater over to theirs that has one when given the option. A few other departments were offered to go too and declined. I don't know why. It was the best move we've ever made. I get that it all counts on the Tx hitting the system to get the Rx back in any quality otherwise it's no better than the old ops channel we worked on but the way they set up the new channel to receive before the County took it over wiped out the old dead spots and makes it much better for us to use.
I hope that made sense. I'm on about 5 hours of sleep since Sunday. Haha!!

Yes, Ridley is now on 46.48. I think they switched a year or two ago? Used to be 46.24, but no longer.
Related to voice dispatch in Delco, is there any current talk of moving to VHF hi or UHF for voice paging? I'm not sure I understand why they never went UHF giving companies an option to monitor their assigned response channel as the second pager channel.

Ridley switched in 2007.
There is 508.2375 simulcast dispatch which will allow you to put your fire channel in channel 2 of a pager.

I know they put tones out over that freq...wasn't sure if there were plans to expand the UHF. Doesn't that just transmit from one site? I didn't think you got good countywide coverage with it.
As for Ridley...my how time flies. I must be getting old.

Radnor Township still has 33.90. How about Eddystone?

All non-corporate fire and EMS in Delco are dispatched on 46.48/508.2375 with the exception of Radnor on 33.90 and Upper Darby on 154.415. All alpha paging is done on 154.205.

What goes out on the text pagers? Are there any lists of cap codes anywhere?

Is Rocky Run a new fire company? I remember when 46 was one of the old Marcus Hook/Trainer fire stations.

Yes, Rocky Run is the company formed by the merger of Lenni Heights (54) and Lima (69) Fire Companies. As of right now I believe they are operating from 69's station with plans to build a new station in the area.
