A bit of Information from the Lycoming County EMA Newsletter

The Department of Public Safety has finalized plans for transitioning to narrowband frequencies on both the Fire and EMA frequencies as well as the County licensed tactical frequencies. The final cut-over date will be October 3, 2011.

During the weeks of September 19th and September 26th, County Control will dispatch the first announcement of the dispatch on the current wideband frequency of 154.430 and will then issue the second announcement on the back up base stations which will have already been converted to narrowband. By doing this, everyone should get at least one tone/announcement during the transition. The primary county owned base stations on the simulcast system will then be converted to narrowband on October 3, 2011. Once that work is completed, dispatching will return to normal.
