I am also hearing it. Its after hours now, wonder if the patch will be up all night.

Seems they added some more sections of the city this afternoon, hearing "north central" now but it's very choppy.

Picking up south fire.

SO after reading all of this, I am still a little confused. I drove through Philly the Friday before Thanksgiving with the RR file loaded into my 996XT and heard not a peep on the two Philly zones.
What changes, if any, can I make to my programming to pick up PFD/PPD when in the neighborhood?
Or is it not possible?
Thanks

Hosehead,
I guess we should have been more clear on our observations. The activity we have been seeing thus far has been intermittent. They enable certain talkgroups for a period of time, then disable them again. I presume this is so certain city personnel can test thier particular channels. I will assume that you didnt hear anything over thanksgiving because no talkgroups were enabled (likely because the techs were off enjoying turkey day). I have both zones running 24/7 on my psr800, and i at times dont see activity for days on end. Hope this helps!

I noticed last night and this morning as I was sitting at my desk that there is/was pretty steady activity on South Fire, North Fire, and North Tac 1. Will have to pull up the recordings to see if there's anything more or when they started. Hopefully this means those talkgroups will be enabled full-time. Does anyone know when the cut-over date is supposed to be or what the progress is with replacing the radios?

Haven't heard too much more on cutover date, last I heard was sometime early next year (Jan/Feb?). I believe most if not all radios are simply being re-programmed, don't think there is too much in the way of new replacement radios at this stage.

Yes, North Tac 1 is encrypted. I have my scanner setup to sound an audible alert that there is activity on encrypted channels. It sound like a busy signal on a phone. It stops on the channel, but I don't hear anything but the busy signal. Let's me know there is activity on that channel.

I'm seeing more activity on the fire and medic bands this morning. I didn't have a chance to look at my recordings last night, but will do so tonight to look at dates/times/channels.
