Default Capitol Police - Harrisburg

Can anyone confirm whether or not the old UHF repeaters are still active for Capitol Police? The last time I was out there and actually listening to their UHF, the repeaters were still active and linked with STARNET. This was before the Dauphin County upgrade, so I figured they did this so Harrisburg PD could listen or talk on the Capitol PD channels.

I just programmed both Capitol Police 1 and 2 in my portable here at work yesterday. It has stopped on channel 2 (453.100) once or twice, but the volume was so low I could not hear it. By the time I grabbed it to listen closer, the transmission was gone. I will turn the volume up and lock it on those 2 channels and monitor them for the day.

I forgot and should add this tidbit. I don't remember if it was channel 1 or 2, but I do remember hearing a transmission yesterday that mentioned the Health and Welfare Building, which would be under the Capitol Police jurisdiction.

After listening to those two frequencies with the PL for several hours, I heard nothing. I used to monitor them and know that there was normally a lot of activity on a daily basis. maybe I'll remove the tones and see if I hear anything for the remainder of the day.

Just picked up a transmission on channel 2. I could not hear much of the conversation (have to keep the volume down because I am in an office). I did hear the word capitol and some reference to a central plant. I will continue monitoring them for the next few days.

Last time I was up there for work, I saw one of the guys with an OpenSky portable on the belt. This was late fall. Not verified, but I would assume they're fully on the OpenSky system.

I might be up early next week. I'll try and find out for sure.
