Plugged in the news helos to my scanner about a week ago. Chopper 3s secondary freq appears to be their primary freq. I never hear anything on what's listed as primary.

Also, sounds like a private ambulance company is using Med 10 with a DPL of 074. Anyone know which one? I only pick it up around center city philly.

Med 10 with D074 is Burholme EMS in the Northeast. I think they run calls in their area instead of PFD medic units.

http://www.burholme.org/ . Doesn't say on their website if they answer 911 calls but it does indicate they run emergency calls and are partnered with two other ambulance services in the northeast. They also list themselves as Medic 96.

The way I see it is you pay a subscription to them, and when you have an emergency, you call their number instead of 911, or call 911 and ask to transfer to them. They then dispatch an ambulance to you. I know for a fact they dispatch units to locations in Northest Philly and state the type of call, etc in the dispatch.

Burholme routinely is dispatched into Montgomery County to back up Cheltenham (358) and sometimes into Abington Township if Second Alarmers is out.

Finally heard something on Chopper 3 Channel 1 today. Sounds like a simplex channel versus channel 2 being a repeated channel.
