Haha yeah true dad's old radio shack 2011 base scanner was 20 channels and I had the whole city covered in that.

Hi whsbuss.

Yep the frequency was 166.150

Do you know what freqs Philly PD used prior to the UHF system? I imagine they were non repeater (duplex) like the FD correct? Similar to how the VHF PA State Police was configured.

Hey Joe.... if I remember correctly (going way back) they were low band VHF. Then around 1952-53 they started the transition to UHF. That got completed around 1960-61.

Wow I never knew that! I thought they converted to UHF in the mid 60's but it was much earlier!
