In many cases, schools use frequencies owned by Radio Services. Conway has many of them in various counties. Here are two possibilities for Pike:

While these are trunked systems, you can quickly determine is any of the frequencies are being used by listening from 7A-10A, and 2P-4P(You will here other traffic, but school bus traffic tends to dominate at these times) by programing all of the "FB6" freq's. as conventional (same way you program all the other freq's in your area).
If you can determine the type of antenna used, it will help narrow the search. Typically UHF are either 6" or 12 with loading coil in the middle. VHF are usually 18"
