Nice Cooper's Hawk! Looks like you got some motion blur there (low ISO and low shutter speed) or just missed the focus. How do you like the camera so far?

Yeah handholding a 70-210 f2.8 at slow shutter speeds really is not conducive to tack sharp photos.

Still learning the camera, the controls are very different from my Nikons and I have to buy a new flash because my SB700 does not work TTL.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever thought about using a monopod? When I pull out my big lens for my D600 to do what you did, I find that I get much better results using one vs. doing it freestyle. Especially when I'm zooming in close. Just a thought!

It was in the truck. I wasn't expecting a hawk to be there, usually its just chickadees and squirrels.
