Man I dont think I would want a couple of bricks, scanner and the wood floating around in the vehicle, if involved in a accident. Good Intentions Im sure, just something to consider........

Shouldn't mix-n-match ballast....
Dude, everybody knows that you shouldn't mix-n-match ballast types! Either use all clay brick or all concrete block, not a little of both. DUH! He should work on wire/cable management also.
This install would be more safe if the operator just held the 2055 in his hand as he drove instead of having the masonry foundation and stick framed abomination pictured here. Does the inverter count as additional ballast or as an upgrade to the mobile shack?

OMG.. That's the funniest thing i have seen in a while.. Why didn't he just use the HandyMan's Secret Weapon and stick it to the dash, it would have looked better...
(That's a Red Green reference to Duct Tape in case some don't know)

come on dude...seriously?
Coulda just mounted it directly to the dash, my Kenwood sits under the cig plug door nicely.
Has to be a joke. If not, I can show you where I mounted my radio in my F150...no wood needed.
Later

Come on you guys, it's a great setup! How many scanner mounts out there come with built in cruise control? (the bricks, get it)?

Get... a... drill. No, wait, two self-tapping screws under the dash ought to hold that scanner... Been there, done that, with the same scanner... AND a Galaxy 949 as well. If you just bolt it under the dash, there'll be usable room down there.
Also, why is it that every crappy install I see has a small inverter?

Looks like someone is trying to make the Hamsexy hall of fame...
If not, and the OP is serious, again, I can post pics of how I mounted my mobile on the same dash. If it is truly someone new to mobile radio, then I'd spend a few minutes trying to guide him in the right direction.
It seems like actually more trouble to rig that wood thingy than to just drive some screws into the dash. Heck, stuffing the 2055 between the seat cracks would be a better option.
I still think someone wants a "trophy" posting on HS. ?.
