Shack Update
Replaced my monitor and changed the shack around a bit. I like things simple and neat.

Wow, that is super clean. I like the modern feel as well. What does your antenna setup consist of?

I live in a Loft/Condo, so I can not have antennas outside. I use an RF Systems DX500 active wideband antenna for the scanner and shortwave and also use a RF Systems EMF antenna for the shortwave. I am in very (RF) noisey environment here for HF, but do manage to pull in stations here and there.

Simple & neat, almost to a fault (just kidding sfreiman)
Goes to show that all us radio nuts aren't slobs, LOL
Too bad that your spot is antenna challenged. The RF System DX500 is a bit pricey. I've always wondered about the noise produced by actives? I just have a long wire connected to my Drake SW8 running across the attic. Even though its not near any electrical I get tons of noise on it. Not sure if its the local conditions or what. So much noise in fact, that I stored the SW8 away for now.

Thanks for the compliments. Too bad there isn't a contest for the anal retentive shack of the year, huh?

I should add, I'm sure glad the wifey doesn't follow the RR forums, I'd be required to tidy my shack up a bit. LOL

Is that a cement wall that your desk is up against? Reminds me of what I might see in a "James Bond" movie. cement walls, stanless steel and a consol monitoring a satlite. Looks good. I like the look
Neat and simple and very clean.

You're correct-that is a very thick concrete wall. I live in a loft that used to be an ice house.

I bought it in Dallas at Storehouse Furniture about 9 years ago. Almost all the furniture I buy is steel, because it lasts a long, long time.
