Default Building new shack

I am about half way done on building my new shack. I thinned out my radios by retiring a few of them and now it's working on some cable issues. Still a way to go. The radios are... 1- PRO 163, 1-PRO 2054, 6-PRO 2055's, 2- PRO 2096's, 2- PRO 197's, 1- BC 15 and a BC796D. The ham equipment is a Yaesu FT-2500M 2m and a Icom 706MKII. I also use a BC895XLT for Unitrunker. Still working on the antennas, so far I have 2 discones up at 35' and an inverted V in the attic. I will be replacing that stranded wire on those strips with solid wire. I don't like how it looks. The bottom section of the strips will be for my ham equipment off another power supply. It still looks ratty though.

Wow, great shack. I used to live in Columbus. It takes a lot of radios to cover everything in that city.

There's just not enough in my area to listen to, to have that many scanners going all at the same time! WOW! I am sooo jealous! Nice set up though, very well done.

What exactly are you using for the power distribution (with all of the screw on connectors)?

Awesome Radioshack radio shack!

You have managed a nice layout there and hidden the wiring nicely.
I have to ask- how have you routed the audio? Do you use the internal speakers or do you have some neat way of using a single speaker?

Regards, Commscanaus.

Lots of radios, what can one monitor with so many? I have one and wish I could get more activity out of it.

Now sitting idle in a box are 2 pro2051's, bct8, bc895xlt, pro2054 and a beat up Alinco 510T. Radios are a terrible thing to waste, right? Just way too much stuff.

A 15amp power supply for the scanners and a 20amp for ham. The rats nest behind the power supplies was incredible. I plan on getting solar power when things in the world improve a bit. Here is a link to what I'm thinking of getting. If it works out well I'll expand it to include routers and computers. Maybe a wind turbine as well down the line. 40 Watt Do-it-Yourself Solar Energy Kit

I have not gotten to the speakers yet. That is why the top shelf is empty. I need to take it all apart and drill a bigger hole because I did not plan well. The power lines are so tight now I can't pass anymore cables through. Each radio has it's own external speaker. Same thing for the coax. Another thing on hold is an 8 port multicoupler.Need room for those cables too.
