Wink My Office/EOC In progress

So I finally took the plunge and built myself a new desk, the old one was pretty pathetic! Went with a custom steel frame, 1"x1/8" box tubing all around. Measures about 10 foot by 12 feet long. So here is the end result, with some work left to do on the monitors.

Kind of an overall picture of the office, it goes further to the left but it is covered in junk I havent put away yet!!

Where it all happens, 2x20", 2x22" and a 17" LCD, all Samsung.

Another shot of the monitors. Running WX Warning, and NOAA Radar.

Two little screens on the right should actually be 4. Im making a custom bracket to hold all 4 in a square pattern, used to monitor the local TRS' with eTrunker. The next project is a steel frame that wraps around the back that will hold all my monitors off the desk with steel VESA mounts.

This is the radio/workbench portion. Soldering station yet to be installed. IC-R7100 receiver for finding new things on the air!

"Work" computer. Set up to a 8-port KVM for switching between the RSS, bench and all the trunker computers.

The radio currently proving the Des Moines Area RACOM feed! And my Astron with custom ammeter running all the radios/scanners.

Using RG-6 feedline, split here with 8 port splitter. 26dB preamp on the home-made antenna on the roof. Too dark to get a good pic of it, maybe later!

OK, so thats about it! Feel free to ask any questions and pardon the mess, I JUST finished it and havent really gotten around to clearing off the shelves of the last few projects lol. More pics to come im sure when i get the LCD frame done. I have 4 more 19" Samsungs ready to mount over the ones I have now for APRS, security cams and couple other apps!

Thanks for looking!!

Downright amazing. Did you remove the plastic from the two monitors running the Trunking software?

No, those are just "raw" screens. Got them from ebay from some industrial machine that got scrapped. They were in new condition just pulled. I went ahead and took them off their brackets you see there and welded up a frame that looks similar to a normal plastic one. Then welded them together in a square frame!

Next step is a frame that goes around the desk in the corner that all the monitors will hang off of. Then i can put my 4 new monitors to use! Need to work less so i can play more haha

With those all being LCD screens I doubt the power bill is all that bad.

Actually, I have them all on their own UPS and the draw with them all running is under 175 watts. If these were CRTs I had better run another circuit!!!

This is also where I make my money doing video production, graphics and web design. So it's not like its all for show. Im a guy that loves his toys, but this would be a bit extreme for me even if there wasnt a good reason to have all this!! Thanks for all the comments guys, I'm also accepting constructive criticism if you have any!

I just went out and bought some light-blocking grey curtains that match the desk! I have to say it looks much better.

More than likely, i got a lot of comments on that! That is CPA 148, before the upgrades. Shot that and quite a few others. Its available if you want it i didnt copyright it. I was the computer nut and photographer. The one that D. Patterson actually got along with haha.
