Three and a half minutes and they didn't pick up a mic ! The only neat thing was the rotators in action. Watch out for low bridges !!!

I believe there is a more detailed descrip to the right of the vid. High output alternator, marine batteries as well I think.

It would have been nice to see what equipment you all have in there.
The camera work looks like it was done by a 14 year old. When you have a seesaw effect like that, you make your viewers seasick.

He can't afford any radios. He spent all his money on antennas!

How do you know they even needed any power? The only thing you saw was a laptop, not one radio. Not even an HT on a hip. I would have never used my call on that thing

I've personally worked that rover in many many many different locations on the east coast on most of the vhf/uhf/shf bands , I can tell you that it was fitted with Down east microwave xverrters, 2IF's, TE Amps (for the most part), Ive also been in that vehicle during field day events, It was quite the sight!

I have to agree. This rover was quite spectacular. There was a large quantity of manpower and labor put into this rover.
The rover is no longer a rover anymore. I believe it was stripped and sold. The former owner Jim ( seen in the video ) has also moved. The other gentelman in the video (Todd N2WVK) who happens to be my soon to be father in law, co-owned the rover with Jim. I never had the chance to go out with them on it but I did see it in person. I can tell you, it was way more than just antennas and a laptop. Again, I am not sure of the exact details of what happened to the rover but this is what I remember Todd telling me. If it matters that much, I'm sure I can figure out the details of the rovers history and also the equipment that was on board.

As I remember, no need for details, it was a very very tough job maintaining it. Im not sure when the last rove was, but if I was to guess I would say 4 or so years ago. They did alot for the hobbie!
