Good job! Can you take a wider view of the dash so we can see how/where you installed?

How did you mount the 7800 head to the dash?

Default radio head

I used an old Pro-Clip bracket and cut off one of the tabs. This left me a L-bracket which I screwed into the built in tray of the jeep dash. Then I screwed the mounting bracket for the radio head on the L-bracket.The remote cable-I drilled a hole into the side of the tray and snaked the cord back to the radio body in the back of the jeep. The speaker was mounted on ABS and placed where a pull out tray is/was located.

Awesome Job!

One quick question, on your 09' KK (KK-Liberty) was that grommet you passed your wiring through on the firewall easy to get to from the interior? Looks like it was an un-used grommet. I know there was a guy on the Jeep Liberty Forums / Jeep KJ Forums / JeepKJ.com / Jeep KJ Country forums (we also have KK and other Jeep model sections on there, join if you haven't already!) a while back asking about a grommet location to get through the firewall on the KK for a CB install.

I have an 03' KJ (02-07 Liberty is the KJ), and it had a handy unused firewall plug on both the drivers and passenger side ready to go for installing my radio gear.

Default 09 Liberty grommet

Real easy. Looking inside the drivers side, left upper sticky carpet. actually easier from the engine side, but no prom either way. I removed the grommet, cut a slit in it,then passed the wire through the grommet the the firewall. After that I put the grommet back in the firewall.

Good work sir, reminds me of my HHR install for my Yaesu 7900.

And you used what looks like the Comet SBB-5 which is what I have (except an NMO mount).

And what looks like the same trunk lip mount! WOOT!
