what is it that you are in command of to have a command room?

All you Americans seem to be commanding something but i aint worked out what yet

Ha-ha! Nice one gewecke!

The reason we call our shacks "command centers" instead of "scanner on a table I bought at the dollar-store" is pretty obvious. It's the American way, and we're proud of it!

(But I still can't figure out why Salisbury Steak is called "Steak"!?!?!)

Actually it's a bit off calling it a "Command Center" It's more like a radio shack or scanner shack. Are you in charge of something? If not then you don't have a command center.
