Cool Loft-shack + basement command center.

Here are some pics of my new "loft-shack". I was feeling left out when looking at everyone's awesome shacks, so I decided to build a shelf for my radios. It's nice because I have plenty of room for expansion.

Here is the basement "command center":

And last, but not least: the antennas:

Yes, It's a bunk bed. I used the same stain so the bunk and the shelves would match.

Haha-just you wait, I'm planning on building some more myself and will eventually be getting a rotator!

Okay, but remember: Never use a rotator with an omni. (Not sure where I heard that...)

It actually works very well for VHF and lower UHF, 800MHz is a little harder to receive as the antenna seems to have some directional qualities for that range, but overall, I'm satisfied.

Thanks. I have the Scantenna but haven't installed it at my new house. Been living here 4 years. Have thought about putting it in the attic but didn't know how it would perform. Can't have an outside antenna here because of the Home Owner's Association.

Sigh...I know exactly what you mean. That's the reason all my antennas are in the attic.
