What does the plastic do? Its pretty secure. It it screwed into the main radio mount. Is there another reason for it?

From my computer it looks as if theres spaces on the sides of the 996,this would help fill them in,but maybe
you took care of that already or maybe its my crappy screen. Either way good luck and Happy scanning!

THree screws that control the environment levels, then you can remove the entire tower mount. was time consuming, but much safer and more secure.
