Orions are VHF(110W/NB) and UHF(100W/NB) combined into one control. The kenwood is a TK-7160. Enjoy.

Is the scanner below the am/fm radio a remote head one? How is that Larsen tri-band holding up? It looks quite dirty and roughed up?

I thought that was a dual band VHF/UHF ham antenna. I count 5 antennas so who knows which one goes to what...

I've got the VHF/UHF Orion's in my truck as well. They are some kick a$$ units! Looks good!

Also, looks like you have the jump box wired to the Orions.

Why is the antenna on the front hood when you have an NMO mount on the rear?

I want to keep my scanner antenna away from the 100 watt radios antennas.

Yes, that is a 996xt installed in the DIN below the am/fm/xm radio. That larsen tri-band antenna has been used since 2006ish. The Iowa winters are hard on antennas. I have a VHF quarter wave that has the ball ate off it! That antenna dates back to 2000.

Front quarter panel is a larsen tri-band for the 996xt. Top front is a quarter wave VHF for the kenwood tk-7160. Top back is a quarter wave UHF for the Orion. Trunk passenger side a 5/8 wave VHF for the Orion. Trunk driver side is a spare. Rear quarter panel is a 800 not in use.

Glad you got the faceplates for the console. The Orion looks sweet, and so does the Kenwood. Great work Tim!!!! :)

The jump box isn't wired into the Orions. I have thought about installing a second battery in the trunk for the Orions.

I never have looked up the specs on the Orions, but two of them left on was killing the battery in less then 8 hours, without even TXing. After two jumps(with the jump box in the trunk), I setup ignition sense.
