Default Mobile HomePatrol Setup

Here is my "little" setup. Just got the RAM mount for the Homepatrol. It works awesome.

Well done! Easy to install and remove. Are you considering an external antenna? That would greatly improve your reception inside the vehicle.

Yes russellmaher, I have thought about an outside antenna. I dont like the big looking antennas. Do they make any that are low and slim? If they do, what would you suggest? Thank You.

Name: Antennas on car trunk.jpg
Views: 1456
Size: 37.7 KBHi dmolique:

I have two antennas on my mobile and both are trunk-lip mounts so I don't have to drill holes in the body of the car. In the middle is the Austin Spectra that I use on the BCD396T and on the right side is the Larsen 450/470 that runs my BCT7. Although the Spectra is a great antenna, it certainly isn't what you'd call low and slim. The Larsen is low and slim and Larsen has a Tri-bander 150/450/800 that you may want to look at. Other members may offer suggestions for you to look at...so do some research and see what fits your needs.

Here's my mobile in case you're interested. Happy shopping!

Russell

Nice, clean simple install that you can easily remove to prevent theft.

If you want to keep it low profile but want better reception and a less obstructed view you can use a BNC suction cup mount along your windshield pillar. I have since switched to the GRE/RS 800MHz optimized antenna like the one you're using with your HP-1.

For a low profile, very good external mobile antenna I'd recommend the Larsen Tri-Band.

Second for the larsen tri-band. I have it coupled with a diamond roof rack mount on my Jeep for my 996xt and it works great.

For My HP 1 Set Up On My 2012 Tucson, I Use A Larsen 150/450/800 Attached Permanent to The Front Q/P Of The SUV

Very Low Profile & Reception, Even On The Low Bands Is Great!

Thanks for the responses on the look. I am still doing my research for an antenna. I like the Larsen, but I found one on Scannermaster.com. Does anybody know anything about it? I have the adaptor that goes from SMA to BNC.
