Default 2009 Hyundai Tucson BC355N Install

My humble mobile scanner setup. Just got done. I wanted to mount the antenna toward the rear and bring it in the bottom of the hatch, but the cable was not long enough. So, I had to make do with bringing it in the passenger door. Luckily, the construction of the B pillar allowed me to run it that way.

I Had My 996 Set Up The Same Way You Have DMG Until I Got The HP 1

Using The Bracket That Came With It

Had Glass Mount Antennas X 2 4 Mounted In The Rear L/R Windows And I Tucked The Excess Line Behind The Rear Seats

Antenna I Have Now, A Larsen Nmo 150/450/800 Run Through The Firewall Of My Tucson Works Great, Even In The Low Bands

bobmich, I considered the Larsen, but opted for the SpectrumForce since most of what I listen to is VHF low. So far, I am not impressed. Going to post about it in the antennas area. Already considering changing to the old radio shack two coil that they still sell. I was always impressed with its performance. It's what I used to use when I had a mobie in my vehicle.

zl2taw, I did run the antenna cable under the trim once I got it in the passenger door. Then under the 2 mats and up to the scanner. It's amazing how short 12 feet of cable can be....

Thanks, Rt169Radio.

Looks good. I like how the wiring "disappears" once the doors are closed. The clips are a good idea too.

Thanks, SouthSide. That location for the antenna was a "fall back and regroup" effort, but I'm satisfied with how I was able to run it. There was JUST enough room there for the tie wrap mounts to clear when the doors closed.

Where did you get those clips? Can they get any bigger?

Rt, I got them at Radio Shack. My brother called them tie wrap mounts. I'm sure you can get them larger.
