Like you said have to start somewhere. Props for adding the mag mount and not just running a rubber duck inside the car.

Fire_Master_21

I ditched the rubber duck when I got the radio. Never even used it. Got a Diamond triband SRH320A which worked great outside but not as nicely in the car.

That's a pretty nice way to get started!

What about 220? The Diamond CR320 is a well made 144/220/440 mobile triband antenna.

Quite nice, where did you run the cable through to get it to the front?

The back seat fold down so I ran the cable to the left side and then tucked it into a crease on the side and then under the back seat near where the passengers feet rest. There is a mat there and I ran the cable under the mat and up to the front on the right side of the center console. Barely had enough cable length, But it is adequate. I would have preferred to have the antenna on the roof and not the trunk. But performance seems adequate so far.

Not much 220 traffic here. And $ is an issue.

Nice. Do you have a speaker/mic to use with it? Would help keep the strain off of the coax.
