I like my new 2055 so much I pulled my dual-band Yaesu 8100R and installed it right under the dash for easy viewing.
All the power and antenna work had been done, just changed the bracket and popped er in!
The Yaesu radio was used 95% for monitoring and was limited to VHF/UHF. The trade off was for trunking and low band, the signal stalker.
The one thing that may have me reinstall the Yaesu (in addition to the 2055) is it's ability to listen to two freqs at once. It's not uncommon to be monitioring at least 5 frequencies during a major fire in Southern California. Or it's nice to listen to the CHP and the city your passing through on the freeway.
