Default Figured I'd join in

Here's my combination Ham/Scanner shack. No the handhelds don't usually stand up. Just for the pic although after seeing some other's pics I may work on that. Some strange artifacts showed up during the reduction to 800x600. Mike

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. I've been into scanning and radio since before there were scanners. Just tunable receivers or crystal contolled. The big rig Ron is a (long name) Yaesu FT-1000 MP MkV Field. I have the external speaker but rarely use it. The audio for the rig is fed to the Bose Waveradio. Sounds great!

Mike

BTW I was inspired to take the pic by all the other fine shacks pictured here. I think I viewed them all. I love seeing other's setups.

Have a look at tonnsoffun's hand held scanner stands. Might be something to think about.
Nice shack!

I've been looking at Ron's stuff and trying to decide which ones I need. I'm leaning towards a triple and a single. The single for bringing a scanner to the living room. My wife always loves that. ;-)

Thanks Eric.

My Grandfather bought me that desk when I was about 12 so it's around 42 yrs old. The problem it wasn't deep enough so I removed the top and bought the butcher block, cut it to size and sanded the corners. Worked well for awhile. About 1 yr later ('89) I built the shelving unit. There are heavy "L" brackets on the back of the desk to support the weight also have a large power strip and Rigrunner screwed to the back with most of the wires in rings. Not fancy but serves it's purpose.

My wife bought me the Bose a few years ago for Christmas. I really enjoy it and if I've had enough of listening to the bands I can put on music. Great sound for something so small.
