Way back when where I started being a radio geek, the big boss stated "towers will be built piece by piece with a gin pole and then you get to climb all over again to get the antennas on it". To hell with that noise! Build it on the ground, antennas, coax and all. Half a day for a crane is $1500. Total for job is a day, day and a half. Sweat reduced by 20dB or more. Boss finally came to see the light.

Anyway, fun job. Nice to see ham stuff being accommodated also. Love a tower job, gets me outside away from the bench and a full day to ignore the cel phone.

Think I want one of those for my back yard. Should improve reception a bit.

I don't exactly envy that tower climber's job there.

I miss the days of tower work.......

Especially if you were the only one climbing. No boss over your shoulder, no one bugging you (if you were lucky). Just work and enjoy the view.
