A lot of the federal agencies need to be shut down and it would save a lot of money.

Let the states and local government handle law enforcement, transportation, education, ect.

Unfortunately the Democrats are NOT willing to cut any spending! Their solution to our fiscal mess is to increase the debt ceiling every year, raise taxes and blame the Republicans if they try and stop them!

I agree social security should NOT be touched. Whats left of it. There are many other roads we could travel when it comes to spending cuts. The $500 million a year going to Planned Parenthood and overturning Obamacare are good starting points.

I also agree that both parties share responsibility for their part in the mess but when it comes to spending you have too admit the Dems take the cake! Raising taxes on the rich alone without spending cuts is NOT going to solve anything.

Raising the debt ceiling without spending cuts is just ignoring the reality and magnitude of problem our children and grandchildren will have to face. We have to make serious spending cuts! At some point the people in this country have to stop blaming the Republicans for pushing the issue and acept reality.

King Obama is already hinting that he may use an executive order to raise the debt ceiling.

Come on, this shouldn't be Politics 101. America doesn't have a king. It's hard to discuss issues in a civil manner if people don't even know high school basics.

The King still has 4 years to go, let's see where his count is when he's done.

Still waiting for N1RGR to hold Republicans/Conservatives to the same standard that he sets forth for Democrats/Liberals...His venom is always directed towards the left while somehow never criticizing the GOP/Pubs.
Funny how that is.....

Since the NRA financially owns numerous members of the House and Senate. it is unlikely that any bills that may be introduced will be passed and sent to the other chamber. So long as the militia mentality runs the NRA, the average recreational hunter/shooter population will have little, or any, say in the ideological battle that has already ensued. There has been no statement that infringes on our Second Amendment rights. If you need high capacity clips and rapid fire weapons to hit anything, perhaps you should consider another hobby. My dad taught me that you don't need to spew max bb's to brihg down your target. I've lived with that training and ethic.

The country is going down the toilet financially,
while many of the people focus their energies
on demanding gun control.

It's the grand distraction.

How about demanding 'politician control'
with equal enthusiasm.

It's considerably more important than
playing with our bill of rights.

It's really not that hard to focus on more than one thing... You'll notice that Congress can tackle many bills in the same day. It's up to what the public demands.

One month after the last minute debt ceiling deal the President says we now need to raise taxes again! How about spending....when is this President ever going to tackle our spending problem? And what about a budget? When are we going to get a budget passed under this President?

$16.5 Trillion and counting!

We know that our Congressional brain-dead members are capable of multi-tasking. The sad fact remains that they are too busy urinating on each other's shoes over partisan ideological minutia to get ANYTHING done. All Speaker Bonehead has been able to accomplish is keeping the box score for these self-perceived "victories" but cannot even control his own caucus of loonies and teabaggers as well as responsible moderates. The Democrats are no better. In this ever-increasing gridlock lies our financial and social demise of a once-great nation. Thanks to these elected fools, that decline is becoming a reality as our "democratic" process is becoming the laughing stock of the world's humorists.
