K6ARL; pre-hospital care is an issue, but not due to the hospital system, but a stupid rule of requiring paramedics to remain with patients until admitted to ER. Not due to frivolous calls.

I took the stance I did simply because BOTH parties have tried over and over to make it happen. Will it ever happen? I seriously doubt it. The issue is when it is linked to Obama trying to become a 'dictator' I mean really...

As far as the Republicans controlling both houses? As long as it is a moderate party, that is fiscally responsible, that is not going to take away people's rights then sure. Sadly that is not the Current Republican Party that created the patriot act, DHS and sold the US and Britain into an illegal war in Iraq. My issue with Romney is and was that he did not have a clue, all i heard during the silly season from the Mitt Romney was vague ideas, flip flops, a plan that was not a plan at all, and old men telling women that they should not be allowed to have an abortion if they are raped (a baby conceived by rape is a gift from god) and that his running mate was an ultra-conservative with ultra-Christian views that I did not agree with. Neither was the correct choice for the white house, and 54% of Americans agreed. Romney was counting on the 'southern Christian conservatives' to get him elected, and they are fewer in number than he needed to get elected. Plus his own party stuck him in the back and alienated most women under 40.

I would counter that the whole occupy movement was a very vocal minority. I believe that majority of people are hard working people, that are not asking for handouts. I believe in giving a hand up rather than a hand out. Welfare only creates people that become dependent on hand outs. Welfare, with mandatory job skills programs that teaches job skills, and assists with securing employment, WHILE ensuring one does not end up homeless leads to one people that are employed and paying their fair share of taxes. That is money well spent.

Actually Highpockets, I do more closely fall into the conservative mind set than Liberal. BUT I would never give up government funded health care, nor would I want to do away with a social safety net.
Sounds like a Socialist to me.

I do not believe one can say I believe in a persons freedoms and turn around and tell a woman she can not choose to have an abortion.
Do you support government funded abortions? Do you agree that the US government should be able to force religious organizations such as the Catholic Church to have to pay for abortions against their beliefs. Do you think this is a direct violation of the US Constitution?

So then answer my counter post #32. Do you agree there has been declining values today compared to the 50's and 60's in society? Are are we moving forward as you stated or should we look back to times when values meant something?

I don't give a crap how "extreme right" people in here think you are-when you're right you're right. Period. You are right about this especially the last sentence. No self-control even at a social level anymore.

I'm always of 2 opinions about any form of term limits.

1. It is my right to vote for who I want no matter how many times he's held office.
2. The political machines in this country make it very easy to get an incumbent re elected and our founding fathers never really wanted profesional politicians.

It would be so much better if the politicians themselves would decide to truly serve their country and not themselves. But power corrupts.
