Default WA Lawmaker: Sell Naming Rights to Public Facilities

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - As many state and local governments across the
nation deal with the aftermath of severe budget cuts prompted by
the Great Recession, a Washington state lawmaker has put forth a plan
to increase revenue without raising taxes:
Allow the sale of naming rights to publicly owned facilities.

"I think perhaps of the CenturyLink Capitol building or something like that,"

Although it's a shame it has come to this, and so much waste fraud and abuse could have saved untold trillions of tax dollars supposedly caused by a recession, I really don't have a problem with this. None whatsoever.
In fact, I'll take it one step further and say that municipalities should put up their own billboards and sell ad space. Many of them already do this on buses and bus benches or transit shelters, the latter of which are usually subbed out to one company who's bribed the commish. Put a 14x48' billboard across the front lawn of the governors mansion, I really couldn't give a schlitz. But to raise taxes, usually in an unfair way, when there's so much to trim out of budgets without effecting quality of life, I have a hard time with.

At least THEN it would be obvious who really owns this country.
