What if school boards in southern states say "this is Obama coming for our freedoms so we want our cafeterias to serve fried chicken and grits" ? That's the problem there. If people actually thought for themselves in this country, I'd say that would be fine. Or if there is a different subspecies of children with different dietary needs, I'd be in favor of it. If not, it should be standardized, IMO. There's school boards that actually want to take science out of science books and replace it with fantasy from religious books, so I don't think it's fair to the kids who are in those districts.

I agreed with your post but it made me angry at the same time because there once was a time we had a government for the people, by the people. Now we don't have elections, we have auctions. These politicians are actioned off to the highest bidder and they no longer represent the people. They represent whoever (or whatever) bought them.

You are so right!! The values we were taught at home and in our schooling have become trashed and forgotten by the very institutions and leaders that we were taught to respect. The auction process is further complicated by abstract and out of date ideologies that are solely theirs and with no buy in from the average American nor the one-party sheeple and shills (whether professional or amateur in origin).. Ethics is a dead commodity among the river rats infesting the swamp along the Potomac. The fact that an Ethics Committee exists on Congressional books is the ultimate oxymoron used only to punish what Adam Clayton Powell called, "The pot calling the kettle white". Citizen action for positive change, especially in the last two decades, has been killed by the lobby power-holders so we are no longer empowered as the American electorate. Sad commentary to be passed along to our children and grand children.

Socialists are not too happy about Obamacare.
You may remember Obama teased supporters with having a public option. After numerous closed door meetings with the insurance cartels and pharma, what we ended up with was Obamacare... being forced to buy a product from a private, for-profit company.
|
More bogus bull crap from ribidcharger! Obamacare is indeed a Socialist bill! When the government controls every body's health care, pays for every body's health care, it is the government controlling everything and it is called Socialism! How much more socialist can you get than a government telling everybody what they can do, what they can't do,how they can live or what kind of treatment a doctor can give! It is also socialist to take over banks, insurance companies, car companies!
Now where was I...oh yes you failed to answer my counter point probibly by design. Your post read that corporate America is preventing Obama's policies from getting passed through congress! I said that was bull and pointed out several bills that have been passed despite Republicans being called obstructionists.
1. Obamacare passed.
2. Debt ceiling raised without any spending cuts.
3. Fiscal cliff bill passed without any spending cuts.
4. Obama's sequester cuts will take affect despite all the scare tactics, lies and propaganda!
5. Hagel even got confirmed.
Sounds to me like Obama gets what ever he wants even when it back fires on him like the sequester!

Yet again in N1RGRs world everything bad is the fault of
Obama/Dems/Liberals while everything good is because of Pubs/Cons/Tea Party. In his world everything is that black and white.
The poor GOP is just trying to save "Amuurrrica" while the Dems are "out to destroy it because they hate it".
Because that is what Faux News tells him to believe.
Sad but true.
If he ever does wake up the truth that both parties are the same and both are corrupt beyond saving will cause his poor mind to explode.

Keep on smoking Gary's weed Marshall! Why don't you do somthing constructive for once and answer a few simple questions...is Obamacare a socialist bill or not? Was Fox News correct in calling out Obama's scare-quester propaganda tactics? Seems to me Fox nailed it!

Marshall,
Do you watch and wait every day until RGR posts and post the same thing all the time, add something of value to the thread, or at least attack him on something else except for Fox News.
Looks like Rand Paul in 2016, that should make you happy. In my eyes that's still a wasted vote. Chris Christie in 2016.

Just for the record I believe abortion is murder and gay marriage should never be accepted by the Christian Church! That said if the people of this country want abortion and gay marriage rights they have the right to vote it in as law and I have the right to oppose it! The government does NOT have the right to control what my kid eats in school or to provide free birth control to women! I don't remember reading those amendments in the constitution last I checked!
Any other stupid comments while your wasting my time Marshall? How about some more Fox bashing? Boring....yawn. What a moron!

Your going to have to clarify what I think your saying.
So, It would be okay if school boards represent their folks but only if they agree with you?
Southern people are ignorant and should not be allowed to make decisions for their children?
Anyone that believes differently than you is a 'subspecies'?
I'm sorry, you are no different than the religious when you force your opinion on others. And that is what you are doing whether you recognize it or not. There are different cultures in the US, explain to me please, what makes you more qualified than they to make decisions for their children?
You and I part ways substantially in this regard, me thinks. I'm quite happy for people to live their own lives, make their own choices and live with the consequences.

Another progressive republican? That didn't work well with Romney. Libertarians and many Tea Party folks will not support a liberal with an R behind his name. I would hope they learned their lesson. Maybe not, The GOP is weird that way.

I don't think so. It's amazing what a person can understand when bias is taken out of the equation, you should try it.
If you think you can smell my feet through the computer screen, a toothbrush and some Scope will probably help you out some.

That whole line was a thing between Marshall, RGR and myself, the wasted vote thing. I just threw the names in to get him going, last election he voted for Gary what's his name.
I'll pay for this.

Look to your Republican votes on the house and senate floor. I'm afraid that despite their rhetoric, they vote progressive 90% of the time. That includes Paul Ryan, the hero Tea Party fiscal Hawk.
I'll say it again, look at voting records.
