Until gun owners learn to vote with their guns, this chipping away at their rights will continue.

Works for me. Without arms, they can't fire their guns.

Update:

Guntersville City Council dismisses proposed ordinance - Huntsville News | WAAYTV.com and ABC 31: Local News

Quote:
GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WAAY) The Guntersville City Council dismissed a proposed resolution that some thought would violate their 2nd Amendment rights. It would've allowed police officers to disarm harmful people, in emergency situations. The Mayor says the proposal was in no way meant to violate anyone's rights.
So the system worked as it should. Backlash forced the proposed resolution
to be dismissed.

Who are "they"?

Let me guess: The Illuminati, the Bilderberg group, and the black
helicopters you can see when your tin foil hat is not on too tight?

"The Violence Policy Center is a research-based organization in Washington, D.C., US. Its work includes lobbying the United States Congress to end non-military and non-law-enforcement ownership of handguns and to tighten the regulation of long guns."

The National Gun Victims Action Council (NGVAC)[1] is an organization which advocates for increased gun control. The NGVAC uses targeted boycotts of various businesses and organizations in an attempt to persuade those organizations into changing their gun policies, or advocate for increased gun control. NGAC is based in Chicago and headed by Elliot Fineman, who "became active in gun control causes after his son was shot and killed in a San Diego restaurant in 2006 by a mentally ill man wielding a legally purchased handgun."[2]

The Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, previously known as the Legal Community Against Violence (LCAV) is a national public interest law center dedicated to preventing gun violence. LCAV provides legal assistance to elected officials, government attorneys and activists across the United States to promote effective, legally defensible laws and policies to reduce gun violence. LCAV also educates the public via print publications and media outreach about gun laws and gun control. The organization has been active in promoting gun control ordinances in California and elsewhere, as well as conducting litigation to defend gun control laws against challenges.[1]

The League supports strong federal measures to limit the accessibility and regulate the ownership of these weapons by private citizens

I don't see the point in listing names too. You'll have to do your own research to see if any of them belong to the groups you mentioned. I didn't search for them.

^ None of the above groups have anything to do with the situation in
Guntersville, Alabama.
This was a bad proposed local ordinance that was dropped once
the community reacted.
Of course being vigilant against any bad proposed ordinances regardless
of subject is important but for some to try to turn this into a "GOVERNMENT
GONNA TAKE MAH GUNNNNS!" conspiracy is far fetched.
And I say this as someone who has been around firearms all my life.
NOTE: this post is not directed at feets but at the tin foil hat crowd.

I can't be sure that none of those groups are not involved in Alabama. Special interest groups often go quietly where they may tip the scales with involvement.

Creeping legislation has worked very well to restrict gun rights already. It's no conspiracy. I've yet to see a group, especially a gun control group, disband after getting their immediate goal satisfied. They always seem to find the next bite to take.

"They" are indeed trying to take your guns. Whether a person thinks "they" are illuminati or Mrs. Smith on the corner matters little.

The fact is, Government is gonna take your guns. Calling it far fetched works, if a person has not been watching. There is a gun control conversation several times a day on MSM. The President and certain Politicians are pushing for it. It's very hard to believe that the Government is not trying to take your guns when the Government is talking every day to do just that.

It is not a conspiracy theory to believe I am going to punch you(generic you) in the face if I say, "I'm going to punch you in face."
