I listened to my voice tapes today recorded over the past week. 14955 seems to be a new W/A Testing channel featuring the usual techs and UID's. Jay you may want to confirm it's in use near you to confirm the W/A status.

05B-073-073 is Beiseker and doesn't use that frequency.

073 in zone 05A is Heart Lake, which is fairly close to Heisler.. but it doesn't show that frequency either.

Maybe it's just a default peer list. Heart Lake is no where near Heisler. Highly doubt they would make it a peer for handoff.

I took a drive on Thursday past the tower and took some pictures. On the door of the new shock was AB505 if that is of any help. There was also Ledcor construction signs which matches the Leduc site

If there's going to be any lettering on an AFRRCS site, my experience is that it will be the Industry Canada callsign, which will be three letters and three numbers, i.e. CGW485 or something like that.

ABxxxx labels are TELUS Mobility site IDs (or BCxxxx, SKxxxx, ONxxxx, etc).
Wxxxx labels are Rogers site IDs.
Somebody uses Cxxxx or CAxxxx but I forget who - it's another telco.

I was looking at the wrong Heart Lake - Google has a return for it about 99 km south of Heisler. The correct one is of course far too far away.

At the same time, Beiseker is over 230 km from Heisler, bypassing Stettler and several other sites (or candidates for sites) in between.

Heisler is supposed to have a microwave link to Meeting Creek, but we've already got those frequencies and 772.20625 is not one of them (and Meeting Creek is site 170 in zone 05B).

Odd ... will keep an eye on this.

Might it be Bell Mobility?

Bell doesn't have sites here since they share with TELUS. I figured it out - C sites are a company called Airtel Wireless. They seem to be mainly PTT resellers.

Bell still has old 1900 CDMA sites in urban areas.

Airtel appears to be running their own IDEN system. A number of licenses have appeared for Edmonton and area sites over the last couple of months.

As bidulock stated it is CDMA service, attached is a screen shot of bell sites only of the greater Edmonton region.

Re the above: Mea culpa.

I submitted 14955 and a site in (near) Vulcan this morning. Of note with the Vulcan site - since it has the exact same frequencies as Crossfield, and Crossfield is using the first freq as a CC, you will always pick up Crossfield if you leave the frequencies listed in ascending order as they were posted. Right now Vulcan is using the 2nd frequency as its CC.. so I have configured my scanner so that the first frequency for Crossfield is last in the Vulcan site (and all other freqs in the Vulcan site are moved up one space). That way, Vulcan will not falsely come up when you scan Crossfield's freq.

No way to tell IMO without driving it, whether or not there's a "new" site at the AFRRCS coordinates.
I had to make a trip to East Central Alberta over the weekend and did notice the Antenna a little south and east of Delia. It is not on the Hand Hills. I would say that the first coordinates listed would put it in the spot where the Antenna is. It was too far off highway 9 to get a good look and could not stop to put the binoculars on it, but is not a tall tower.

It's a good day for 700 MHz reception. I'm getting quite a few 5B sites here in Edmonton. Will sort through to see if anything new.
