Hi all
Picking up a possible repeater on 164.0875 mhz from somewhere. Very weak signal. Can hear them talking in the clear but very scratchy. Either flathead county or maybe idaho or possibly BC, Canada. Fish & Game maybe or fish, wildlife & parks.

164.0875 mhz is in the mobile/repeater input band so it can't be repeater out. Might be mobile. Will check the repeater out bands.

Just found something on that frequency. It's an NIFC air to air forest service frequency. Air Tac frequency ?

Yeah it's an old 2009 NIFC air tac frequency. Still trying to find what it's used for now. Not much luck yet. have my scanner set on 164.0875 on search and store mode to get any tones for it. The signal might be to weak to get any reliable tones maybe. Will find out. Need a better antenna, ha ha.

It was used in BC forestry on the coast. Found in intercept radio. 163.965 173.8 R COASTAL (FOREST) FIRE CENTER (SIMULCAST 164.0875). But that is to far away for me to be picking it up. ha

What PL/DPL are you hearing.

Just picked up a guy and a woman talking and the PL tone was 141.3. It must be mobile. I can tell it's a long ways off where ever it's coming from. I'll keep monitoring it. May I can figure out who it is.

It's always the same two people talking, a guy and a woman. It sounds like it might be a base station and mobile unit. Really scratchy today so far. But they come in once in a while.

The guy is saying he is "station 1" so maybe he is the base station? Recording it and have to use headphones to make out what they are saying as the signal is very weak.

164.0875 MHz PL 141.3 ?

Hi all

I'm in libby, mt. and I'm picking up a guy and a woman talking on 164.0875 MHz PL 141.3 and the guy says he is station 1. Does anyone in boundary or bonner counties hear them ? I posted this for the montana forum too trying to track down who this might be. It Might be coming out of BC, Canada too, maybe. The signal is very weak and scratchy. Need a better antenna. Using a mobile ant. stuck on my house roof. Also using a 12 db preamp.

There was 2 different people this time talking and they gave callsigns at the end but the signal was too weak to make out what they were saying but I could tell it was a guy and a woman chatting.

I think I may have just figured out what it is. Not sure yet but will find out. Checked the BC forestry repeater frequencies and there is a Blue channel on 164.0850 MHz.

It may be BC, Canada forestry repeater on Blue Channel 164.0850 MHz that I am picking up. Set the scanner on that freq to see if it comes in better.

164.0850 Mhz is the Rx. 163.2150 MHz is Tx for Blue Channel Repeater/Mobile. So I am going to try the TX freq. to see if it comes in better.

Start here. There are maps that will tell you where they are located and which tone the repeater uses.

If it is PL141.3 then it is likely Commerce Mtn. In SE BC.
