Default Someone explain Fall Back In-Cabinet Repeat

Ok on my Quantar's there is an option for Fall Back In-Cabinet Repeat which is enabled. And the Fallback Timer is set to 500 msec.

Now if the base station losses it's wireline, what does this exactly do. As of right now, I see that it does absolutely nothing.

Can someone give me a little more detail into this.

Default In Cabinet Repeat Option

This is most likely used when the audio/digital transport (microwave, leased phone lines, hard lines) are interrupted between the repeater and a analog/digital voting system. The repeater will activate a "relay/switch" to "loop" the audio/digital internally vs. sending the audio/digital to the voters and then the voters "voting" the best audio/digital signal. Once the best signal is determined by the voting system the audio/digital is sent back to the repeater/s.

I am not 100% sure but I believe you would need to have external audio/digital in/out enabled on the repeater to notice any difference.

Hope this helps.

Default

Probably so a duplex base/voted repeater, will default to in cabinet repeat if the line or the voter fails.
