Cassidiant com is having problem with the new network.. The SIM tried to move on the SERAM in december 2014 but everything broke down. I hear some 10-39 on the SIM dispatch channel since last week. You can also hear encrypted communications on SPVM channels.

Remembered an article in French about the fact that their new systems does not work

SPVM: 74 M$ pour un système radio défaillant

I vote they go back to UHF analog. I get a vote, right? :D

Digital is trickier than analog, especially if you add TDMA and encryption. Smear a few bits and the error correction has to work overtime and then pretty soon it's "R2D2 au centrale".

BUT ... SSIM, sorry, SPIM, sorry, SIM has been on P25 for what? 10 years? And an analog trunked system before that. Is it not the same contractor installing this year's system? You'd think they'd have a lot of this figured out by now.
