Default 2006 Ford F-150 Pro 197 scanner install

anyone have any luck installing the scanner in the locations circled? Would probably be best mounted on the top dash, but was wondering if you could take out the cup holders and mount there, also there is an open space below the cup holders.THX

ON top might be ok, The space under or where the cup holders are, Not deep enough, It tried that in my 07 earlier, I finally just had to put the braket under the spot under the cup holder, It won't fit where the cup holder or the thing under it is, Haven't tried on top, Afraid of theft up there too easily..
