No, i'm not one of those internet douchebags who brags about his car, the convertible version of this car has a different antenna then the coupe/sedan.
Anyway, what I'm currently in the process of doing is adding a scanner to the car and running the antenna thru the car's stock antenna wiring. Using a
Para Dynamics splitter to break the stock antennas wire into a motorola antenna plug, which fits my avicf700bt A-Ok and then the BNC to my handheld mounted on my dash.
All of that is fine... what I'm hung up on now, is, I've also purchased a 3" whip,
PC360 Tri-Band Antenna. The threads on the end of this are 3/8" and the base mount is removable.
This is the input (left) and stock antenna (right), from my measurements it's either 1/4 or 1/8th threads, sorry about not being accurate, used a standard measuring tape. I'm active in the community and even the guys with the big books for this car can't find the measurement spec for it.
I need to know my options in respect to getting the whip mounted to my car via the stock port. Can i use a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter or is there a 1/4 mount I can use to put the whip in? The whip itself WILL fit thru the car's female port and touch the base to make contact with the antenna, so it fits. I just need to attach it.
Here's the base mount and the end of the whip (i'm a bit of a newb, so I'm not 100% certain if this is all standard).
Help! Thanks in advance lads!
