Default Ideas for single mobile antenna for handheld radios?

I'm looking for some input on splitting a single trunk-lip antenna to my FT-60R and BC346XT in the vehicle.

I haven't picked up the trunk-lip mount yet, but I'm leaning towards the RS720-NMO with a dual-band antenna.

Thanks!

Default receive only?

Are you planning on using the ft-60 for receive only or will you be transmitting with it as well? I would think tx straight into the receiver of the 396 would be a bit hard on it. Maybe with some type of coaxial relay to disconnect the 396 from the antenna while txing on the ft-60.

Primarily, the FT-60R would be for monitoring but having the capability for TX would be nice. The idea of a coaxial relay is a good one. Are there any available commercially? Obviously, size would play a part since it would have to mounted in the vehicle.

I would use multiple antennas, especially since you would like to also transmit. The cost of coaxial relays and frequency splitters would be much more than just buying another antenna/mount....

Two antennas would be a lot cheaper and a lot safer. All it would take is a single "blonde moment" and tap the PTT and ZZZTTT.... CRAP.

And i'm not picking on people with that hair color, i have my moments also and i have brown hair.. LOL

I have a single antenna set up receive only but the taller antenna has some transmit depending on what freq. you are going to use. (big antenna is not mounted just for comparison )

What it looks like with just the 800mhz antenna
