Motorola portable mount?
I'm looking for a solution to mount my Motorola portables in the car... so that I'm not occupying my cup holders. I like mounts that are sturdy, so not the type of clips that attach to the heating vents. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Currently I do bogart a cupholder, but I'm using a cell phone holder for my radio. I used to have my Saber in it, up until I moved my 996 to take it's place (now the Saber sits on the seat). I'm looking at getting a RAM mount to replace my cupholder mount.

For a while, in one of my many vehicles, I used one of those cupholders you can buy in a pack of four or so that will hang on the inside of the window ledge. I cut a square hole in the bottom of it, and I think I had a rag inside the cup holder with it for stability. It did seem to stay put, if I remember right.

You can do the D posts on the radios like old guys have on their duty belts and put the clip portion on your dash. I did that on the patrol boats and it works well.

Motorola portable mount - vehicle
While looking at carrying solutions for XTS5000 at MOL yesterday, I came across
a couple of mobile portable carriers, the kind that slip into the door window crack.
The text from MOL is attached below:
Portable Radio Hanger for door panels up to 2.75" TDN9327A $28.50 list
Portable Radio Hanger for door panels up to 3.25" TDN9373A $18.00 list
The portable radio hanger slides over and hangs from the door panel in a vehicle. The radio’s belt clip slides onto the portable hanger allowing convenient, easy mounting. Two sizes are available to fit door panels.
See attached pictures. The TDN9327A is shown on a 45 degree angle in the pictures.
The TDN9373A is more vertical.
I hope this helps.

Yes... these are GREAT.. but do NOT use them with tinted windows (the stick-on type)! They will ruin them.. trust me!

AH. We're not allowed to have the driver, or adjacent passenger windows tinted here in California.
