Default Mounting 2 DIN size radios in vehicle

I currently have my scanner mounted using the supplied mount to the underside of the dash. I am looking to add a second DIN sized radio but don't really have the space to mount them side by side. I would like to mount the second radio directly beneath the scanner. Any ideas on how to feasibly do this? I was thinking maybe two thin-ish pieces of metal to connect the screw mounts on either side. Any ideas?

Maybe try some unistrap mounted to the sides? Also radio shak used to have a kit with several types of brackets in the package.
Another idea is check wal mart automotive for a GM/DIN dash stereo kit? Vehicles like the chevy astro have a larger din opening than most cars.

If All you want is the bracket to hold to radio's together just take the bracket you have now for the second radio, hack off the horizontal piece and re-drill to fit the bracket for the first radio. You might be able to just flip the bracket around, put the the horizontal part of the bracket under the radio and drill new mounting holes for the radio and attach it to the upper radio bracket.

Maybe take the outer cover off the radios and use the threaded holes in the radios to attach side plates to both. Then put a mounting bracket on the top radio by having clearance holes in the plates where the original thumb screw holes in the upper radio are.

It turns out that the threads for the mounting bracket thumb screws are in the outer case, so you would have to drill and tap the holes in the plates where the thumb screws go.
