Question BCD 966T Mobile install

I want to install my 966T in my 2000 Saturn SC2. I could mount it on the dashboard, plenty of room there, but I think the sun could do some serious damage during the summer months. So I don't want to mount it there. I'm basically looking for a floor mount system Anybody know of any mounts for a 996T in a compact car. I looked at Ram-Mounts web site, but they are not really made for scanners I guess. Hopefully some of you guys have mounted a 996T in a car that is not in the dash mounted. Any ideas ?
Thanks for your help guys.

Did you check Jotto desk? or Havis Shield?
I have my scanner in a console that fits in place of the stock console.
They have many I just dont know if they have em for saturns.....

I have 996t mounted in the dash, I don't know where you are located but it gets close to 100 degrees in the summer here in NJ. I do use a sun shield in the windshield most of the time. Been okay for the last couple years.

I'm not sure if the SC2 has a transmission hump, but I used a Gamber Johnson ShortStack (part #GJ-SM212) for my BCT-15 in my very first install. It worked well and you have extra space for a second radio, if you ever get one in the future.

Another option would be to mount it in place of the factory radio. Again, I haven't seen an SC2, but BCD-996T's and BCT-15's are built to fit in where the factory radio is. In many cars there is still room to put in an aftermarket radio above or below the scanner.

Default Another Option

If you have a laptop and the Bearcat software that came with the radio, you can really mount the radio anywhere you want and purchase a laptop mount for your console / front seat area. Then you connect the radio to the laptop and you use the online control to view the radio as if it were there up front with you! I do it this way so I can use the logging feature, add or delete systems on the fly (parked, of course) and still use my laptop for navigation when necessary (Bluetooth GPS!). Just wanted to float another option out there...

Have fun whatever you decide, and keep your eyes on the road!

From this view it looks like you have a storage compartment below the radio slot. Take it out and you should have ISO mounts there to install the 996 right into. At the worst you may have to make a couple of "L" brackets that mate the scanner to the mounts.
