Advice on mounting a BC355N in my Tucson
I have a BC355N and SpectrumForce Wideband antenna on the way from ScannerMaster. I am going to be mounting it in my 2009 Hyundai Tucson this weekend. My plan is to mount it in the red location in my photo, which is the side of the shifter console using the factory supplied mounting bracket. Because I refuse to drill into anything, I planned on using the RadioShack Super Lock adhesive strips as I have done in the past. I had used them before to mount scanner on the dashboard of more than one vehicle and never had a problem. Do they even sell them anymore? I looked online and did not see them listed. If not, I will have to find something comparable at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, etc. because I want to get it in this weekend. Thoughts?

Is the speaker on the 355N top mounted? If so, don't mess with the bracket. It will just put it further into the passenger leg area. And you would be using a larger square of velcro if you attach to the bottom of the scanner and direct to the console...

Hey Cleve. I was just taking for granted that it was on the bottom like the other mobiles I have had in the past. From the photos I have seen online, I do not see a speaker on top. Even if it was, I would probably use the mounting bracket just for ease of removal. I take my electronics out when I get home.

I Have A 2012 Tucson With A HP 1 Mounted Where you Have The Red Spot
I Have A Ram Mount Permanent, I Forget Which 1 @ This Early Hour Before Going 2 Work
It's Hollow Down There, I Only Used 2 Short Screws & It's A Solid Hold
Premark & Double Check & Level It Before You Drill & It Would Be Better Than Your Idea IMHO
Took Me About 10 min Tops For The Install

Thanks for the information, Bob. I really do refuse to drill, so I am doing the Radio Shack SuperLock plastic velcro strips. I stopped in and they carried it even thought I could not find it listed on their website. I will do what I did in the past with my others and use 2 strips on the console and the corresponding 2 strips on the mounting bracket and that should suffice. If I find that it does not hold on the vertical (which I doubt), I will probably move it to between the seats (yellow).
Do you have a pic of your install? I'd be interested to see it.

I Would Be Happy To Post Pictures Of The Install & Antenna Set Up, But I'm Embarrassed To Say That I Don't Have A Clue As How To Post The Pics Here
If You Or Someone Could Enlighten Me As How To, I will Take The Pics With My Iphone 4 & Post Them

Hey guys, don't knock those RS SuperLock velcro strips. The dman things are so grabby, I bet they could hold up a 500lb anvil! I use a pair strips to anchor my tablet to the wall in the kitchen when I'm working in there. Haven't failed me yet, just wish the adhesive wasn't such a pain to remove without adhesive remover (Goo Gone).

Bob, it's actually very easy. Now, I am talking about the process from a PC. It might be slightly different from mobile. After typing your reply, scroll down and click on Manage Attachments. This will open a window where you can click on Browse to browse to your photo(s). Once you have selected it, click on Upload. After it has uploaded, it should appear under Current Attachments. Then scroll down and click on Close this window. That should do it. See my photo.

Exactly right, Mike. I am a fan of them. When you don't want to drill, they are a great alternative.
