Cool speakers for mobile install

I recently bought a used Mazda B2500 pick-up truck.

Evidently there was an option of getting a Quadraphonic sound system. Using four discrete speakers. Two in the doors and two behind the seat.
Apparently the two speaker enclosures behind the seat built into the rear wall of the cab never had any speakers installed.

I am going to install a 2m/440 Dual band, Dual receive, transceiver, like a TM-7A, and put the
main unit on the rear wall of the cab.

I am thinking of putting speakers in the empty rear speaker enclosures, assigning one speaker to the left audio and one to the right audio output of the transceiver.

The speaker enclosures require 6x8 or 5x8 oval speakers.

I have looked at various car audio shops, and online for appropriate speakers.

Every where I have looked so far, wants to sell me "HIGH Performance" audio speakers with very wide audio responses intended for music reproduction with specs like "50Hz to 44000Hz".

What I need are speakers with their response tailored to voice frequencies, roughly 300 Hz to 5000Hz.

I have already tried my local Radio Shack, and the sales droid there didn't have a clue about what I was talking about, and tried to sell me some "HIGH Performance" audio speakers, not what I was looking for.

Does anybody have any recommendations?
I am looking for specific brand names as to make ,model, and source.

I would build an adapter plate of 1/4 inch plywood and mount a standard 4-inch comms speaker from Motorola on it, and then you can cover it with the OEM grille. If you do opt for hi-fi speakers for any reason then you will find the sound of the PL tone to be objectionable. Here's an exact eBay reference for the type of speaker I'm talking about: (You would remove the internal speaker from the old enclosure and mount it on the board.)

Along this same theme you could buy a couple of the powered motorola speakers. They are wonderful. A person can drive with the windows down at interstate speed and still hear any transmission clearly. These speakers including the housing are much thicker than what is shown in the picture.

As I recall, the Motorola mobile powered speakers require a line level audio input whose level is controlled in the radio. Interfacing them with another brand of radio would require some relatively simple engineering to get them to operate properly. I'd recommend trying the speakers only at first, then moving on later to powered speakers if the speakers alone don't provide sufficient audio.
