after trying several flimsy cell phone mounts for mounting my pro-96 in my car and before plunking down big bucks for a mobile radio mount I went into local Pep Boys Auto store and they had one that is almost custom made for the PRO series scanners and it only cost $8.
it has a vent mount and a screw in or adhesive mount on an adjustable bracket. I have been using the vent mount with no problems
just had to trim the two arms about 1/4 inch that hold the unit in place to allow clearance for front panel buttons on the left and right edges. the arms extend out a good distance and enough to hold the unit firmly
its called a type S universal mount and they have a website winplus.net but it appears to be a dead link but I also found it listed here for same price
