Post Trunking Help for Pro 163

New guy to trunking and could use some help. I have a Pro 163 that I'm using as a desk top. I have reviewed the cheat sheet section and found that using the Pro 97 cheats seems to work for the 163. My problem is that when I get to the part about storing known talkgroup ID's, I'm told to enter the 5 digit code for Motorola. I found and entered the CC channels and the subsequent voice channels to the scanner. They are working just like regular scanned traffic. If the scanner hits them while they have traffic on them then it will lock up. This thing is whipping my butt, trying to figure out to tell the scanner that the frequencies I just entered are part of a trunkgroup. Where would I find the 5 digit Motorola code and how does it 'know' that what I enetred is in a trunkgroup? Sorry to be a bother and I don't consider myself stupid, just uneducated on this stuff. I'd appreciate any help from those of you that know this stuff. Thank you.

Hi
just purchased pro-163. Having problems with trunking. When i put the scanner in scan mode, i do not pick-up any trunking (group numbers). If i put the scanner in manual on the trunked frequency, i recieve the traffic and group numbers. Programming without software. Any help would be appreciated.thank you brykim

Three important items to check.
1 Bank set to proper trunking mode
2 Channels set to proper trunking mode
3 Bank set to "OPEN" if no talk groups programed.
