Default need help

I am brand new to these rooms and got my scanner today and just need some help on programming the talkgroups I have in programme in. I dont have a computer but a web tv and also i manually programmed all talkgroups in my area and there are a lot of them Sometimes I can see the numbers in my mot mode and other times in my id question do I have it set up right and am I actually trunking or just conventionally using my scanner? One more question it seems like in the day time there is a lot more traffic with taxis and golf courses do some police stations use the same talkgroups id. I tried to read up on info as much as possible but just frustrated I think I have it but then it seems like it dont.

Thanks for any help
Jeff

First which scanner do you have? If it is a 92,93,95,96, or 97 it sounds like the banks are in the open mode and will show a + under the band number. You need to closed the bank and have it show a - under the number. press man then go to the bank you want then it depnds on which radio you have
For the 92 - function 2
For the 93, 95, and 96 it is function 5
For the 97 it is function then the Delay (.) key

Welcome to the forum, Jeff.

What's your location ? We could have a peek at the database and see
what you're trying to listen to.
I'm sure the are some 9 to 5 users on that system, like golf courses , etc...but I would think that each group would have a unique talk group. I can't imagine the police sharing with anyone else but other Emergency Services.

Get back to us with your radio model number and location, and we can
take it from there.
