Default programming trunked in a pro 160

I bought my first scanner last week and have had good luck with it so far. i have had no problems programming regular frequencies in and hearing chatter. i am however having some issues with programming trunked systems. i got a RS PRO-160. Please help!

Which system is giving you grief ?
I see that your location is Dayton, are you trying to listen in on this system Scanner Frequencies: City of Dayton Trunking System, Dayton, Ohio or something else ?

wizzap, the Pro-160 has a female BNC connector so your cable would have to have a male BNC connector.

I have no idea about the trunking systems in your area but you should be able to look it up in the database section of this site.

You may want to read up on trunking in the wiki section – be ready to spend some time learning the jargon.

To both of you with the new PRO-160 scanners.
Join this group (free).
In the FILES section on the left side of the group page you will find a simple explanation about trunking and step by step programming help.

Well, i programmed in Dayton, and i got that to work. My problem now is getting the trunked channels that are on a motorola type 1. i will take a look at the links that were posted and hopefully that will get me through it.
