Thumbs down Radio Shack PRO-106 Product Support Page GOOF

Just checked the RS Product Support page for the PRO-106. They have posted two new FIRMWARE links.

INTERESTING!

BOTH DATED AS POSTED ON "JULY 09, 2009". (POSTED BUT NOT RELEASED)

Neither of the links work. They apparently embedded both links into ONE line.

Here's how the link is written...

<http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rsk/Support/SoftwareDownload/2000106_0197_V17.EXE%3C%3E/Support/SoftwareDownload/2000106_0197_V17.PDF>

Both links are identical. The links are correct if edited as follows...

FOR THE FIRMWARE

<http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rsk/Support/SoftwareDownload/2000106_0197_V17.EXE>

http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rs...6_0197_V17.EXE

FOR THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

<http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rsk/Support/SoftwareDownload/2000106_0197_V17.PDF>

http://rsk.imageg.net/graphics/uc/rs...6_0197_V17.PDF

A simple enough goof to fix but to those who are just novices and don't read the available threads on the internet about the scanner they will endure a Radio Shack headache, especially if the links are NOT corrected rapidly.

OK WHERE'S THE PRO-164 BUG FIX FIRMWARE?????????? (?? STILL IN TESTING ??)

That's asking them to step beyond the world of cellphones and batteries.........

GRE and RS have release dates which are identical for the 1.06 firmware update. One month later GRE posted firmware 1.07 with the following information.

Latest release of PSR-300/400 "CPU G1.07" Firmware has been released.

CPU Firmware Version - G1.07 - 04/07/09

Corrected a problem with EDACS operation where certain control channel
frequencies would not track properly.

The frequency storing condition which generates the problem:

When the same frequency is stored in the control channel of Motorola System
and in the control channel of EDACS System, the software does not decode
EDACS Control Channel data properly.

Note: CPU Version G1.00-G1.05 does not generate this problem.
