Default pro 2022 ant

what is a good ant for the pro 2022 that will pick up better then the stock one is the diamond rh77ca a good one

Welcome to Radioreference ltfpfd. I use Diamond discones and Scantennas for my base models. There are many different brands available. Take a look at the Wiki for more information:

Yes, for VHF/UHF bands, the Diamond RH77CA is an excellent choice.

If you are using it at home and really wish to have better reception, try an antenna outside. That is always best. It can be a simple mag mount and can range all the way up to a huge antenna on a tower. But that's really overkill, unless your out in the sticks. I have the Pro-2021, which is very similar to yours and it's only using the supplied telescopic whip and receives just fine sitting on the table next to my bed. It's only a few feet above ground level and I have satisfactory results with it. It's not my primary scanner, just the bedside scanner that I usually only scan a few channels overnight.
